Cooking oil forms the crux of any cooking crusade, and there has been a lot of educational/informational/freakish/absolutely false information being propagated and consumed out there.

One such most debated cooking oil myth, is “Changing your cooking oil every now and then helps your heart significantly”
Let’s break down this statement and separate the facts from fiction.
What are the three components of cooking oil?
Every cooking oil has a unique chemical composition. Cooking oils are made up of different combinations of the 3 different types of fats.
– Poly-unsaturated fat
– Mono-unsaturated fat
– Saturated fat.
 The first two fats are essential and are absolutely healthy (scientifically proven) for your overall wellbeing, Saturated fats are deemed unhealthy and harmful.
While there is no cooking oil that is completely rid of saturated fats, the ratio of these three fats is what makes the product healthy.
Coming back to the idea of changing cooking oils.
